💜 IT'S OFFICIAL! I've been selected to play Shug Avery in The North Carolina Theatre's production of "The Color Purple." I can't express how wonderful the weight of this role is for me to take on - it's been a character I've longed to portray. I'm beyond honored to work w/this talented director & cast. And, aside from how wonderful the book is...the movie/story has a fond place in my heart & memories, as I saw it in the movie theater with my dad & my sister way back in the day...it was a very special time.
