The South Florida non-profit arts presenter Global Arts Project created their Safe & Sound series to continue serving their community with live music, and now in fact, the global community as well. To launch this new livestream series, Global Arts Project brought out some heavy hitting entertainers from the South Florida jazz world.
Keeping safety standards, the City of Miami Beach and the South Beach Design Group helped present this 7-piece band in a virtual full length concert. The headliner was GRAMMY-nominated flautist Nestor Torres who welcomed Nicole as his special guest, along with the award-winning, legendary percussionist Sammy Figueroa.
SIDE NOTE: Nicole and Sammy have been friends since early in Nicole’s career when she was the lead singer of an original local Miami band called The Specialists. Sammy sometimes played with Nicole and band leader, Lou Duvin and even recorded on their live EP “Live from Bougainvillea.”
